Acronis has appointed Tony Stratton as general manager for Australia and New Zealand, tasking him with driving regional growth and strengthening the vendor's channel ecosystem across ANZ.

Stratton takes over from Terry Christie, who was named to the role in June of last year.

Stratton will lead Acronis' operations across both markets, with a mandate to deepen relationships with partners and clients and expand the company's presence in the region. Acronis said it has more than 700 partners across ANZ.

He brings more than 30 years of IT industry experience, including over two decades in senior leadership and sales director roles. Stratton has worked with global cloud and cybersecurity providers and has collaborated with managed service providers across the Asia-Pacific region.

Previous roles include director of sales APAC at the likes of Think On, Probax and iland Cloud, as well as regional sales director and CTERA Networks and regional director APAC at IronKey.

"Having worked closely with managed service providers throughout my career, I understand firsthand the importance of strong channel partnerships and the value they bring to driving mutual success," Stratton said.

"I look forward to working alongside my team and our partners to accelerate growth, strengthen cyber resilience and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers across the region."

Pasha Ershow, senior vice president for APJ and Middle East at Acronis, said AI-driven threats were increasing pressure on ANZ MSPs to find protection that was both stronger and simpler to manage.

"Tony's experience and knowledge of the local channel will help us support them better and keep fast expansion in the region," Ershow said.
