Synnex Australia to distribute UBTECH Robotics

Synnex Australia has partnered with Chinese vendor UBTECH Robotics to distribute its range of consumer robots geared towards STEM skills.

The products on offer include Alpha 1, a programmable humanoid robot and Jimu Robot Kits, an interactive robotic building block system. UBTECH's robots aim to teach children how to design, build and code to fit in with the STEM curriculum.

Synnex said it would offer resellers a range of products and solutions to meet consumers' needs. UBTECH will be available through consumer electronic stores, toy retailers and department stores.

Synnex Australia product director Jay Ko said: “UBTECH’s product range will deliver key robotic learning skills in a fun and engaging way. Sophisticated tech-toys have also been identified as one of the ‘hot gifts’ for 2017. Synnex is confident the Alpha and Jimu range from UBTECH will be an enormous success in both the education and retail markets.”

UBTECH COO Warren Wang said: “As a leading AI and humanoid robotic enterprise, UBTECH is seeking strategic partners globally just like Synnex. We strongly believe that with Synnex’s local market coverage and experience, we are much closer to our vision of bringing robots into every home.”

Synnex has won over a handful of vendors this year, including the full print portfolio of Fuji Xerox, along with Galax, AvastAcronisATEN and Vertiv.
