Synnex has added Avast to its security portfolio in an exclusive agreement that will see the distributor offer the entire AVG security software portfolio by Avast to its channel partners in Australia and New Zealand.
Partners are now able to offer AVG’s managed workplace, RMM and antivirus protection software solutions.
According to Synnex, the partnership reinforces its commitment to continue to invest heavily in its cloud marketplace and expanding its vendor portfolio.
Synnex revealed that the company have been in discussions with the security vendor for more than 12 months leading up to the exclusive agreement.
Synnex general manager, ecommerce & cloud services Michael Tea said: "We are excited to be launching with AVG Security products by Avast and are looking forward to extending the partnership to the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. As part of our exclusivity, Synnex will also add another 1500 AVG partners to its valued reseller base."
Synnex chief executive Kee Ong said that the partnership with Avast represents a strong offering in the distributor's security software and cloud services portfolio for Australia and New Zealand.
"Channel partners can leverage the extensive security solutions by Avast across SMB and mobile enterprise businesses. This represents many opportunities for our existing mobile hardware vendors and channel partners to formulate bundled security solutions to drive additional revenue streams," Ong said.
Avast acquired AVG Technologies in October 2016. The US$1.3 billion acquisition was set to create a "global powerhouse" in the security market.
Avast expects the partnership with Synnex to expand its market reach. The vendor has a user base of 400 million Avast users globally.
In the security landscape, Synnex works with Acronis, Barracuda Networks, Check Point, Honeywell and Trend Micro.
