Riverbed has appointed Peter Lee as regional director of solutions engineering, APJ, and promoted Nick Kempt to director of alliances, AIOps and customer success, APJ, as the vendor expands its Asia Pacific and Japan leadership team.
Lee brings more than two decades of experience in technical pre-sales, cybersecurity and IT observability, and has led solutions engineering and architecture teams across enterprise, strategic and public sector segments in the region.
He joins after eight years at SolarWinds, with his most recent role being senior manager for solutions engineering APJ.
In his new role, he will build and scale Riverbed's solutions engineering organisation across APJ, reporting to Charbel Khneisser, senior vice president of global solutions engineering.
"Riverbed's combination of network intelligence, observability and AI-driven insights, extending to mobile devices, gives organisations the context to identify issues faster and improve digital experiences," Lee said.
"I'm excited to help build a solutions engineering team that demonstrates that value to customers and partners."
Kempt, who has spent more than five years at Riverbed across APJ, takes on an expanded remit covering the vendor's regional AIOps strategy, customer engagement and strategic alliances.
The company said his focus will include strengthening executive customer relationships and growing alliances with managed service providers and technology partners. He reports to Paul Crighton, vice president of sales, APJ.
“As organisations invest more in AI and automation, the focus is shifting to how those investments deliver business value,” said Kempt.
"My priority is to deepen customer relationships and work with our partners to turn observability, AI and automation into measurable outcomes."
“Peter and Nick bring complementary strengths in technical leadership, customer success and regional execution," said Crighton.
"Their expanded roles will help customers and partners get more from their existing investments as they move toward autonomous IT operations, maximising the value of AI in their IT environments.”
The moves come after Riverbed earlier this year introduced six new products and capabilities aimed at advancing autonomous IT operations, including Riverbed IQ 4.0, conversational AI interface Riverbed Q, AI Assurance, and new Aternity capabilities covering Replay 2.0, High Frequency Analytics and APM+.
