Sage Pastel distributor targets resellers

Accounting software company Sage Pastel has tasked local distributor Software Alliance Group with channel development in Australia after completing a channel refresh.

A long time distributor of the South African firm Pastel before it merged with Sage, Software Alliance Group was certified as the only channel development partner in Australia following the revamp. 

John North, managing director of Software Alliance Group, said the barriers to entry were removed for resellers and it would now focus on growing the channel here. 

“It was previously expensive to buy a demo version,” he said. "In-house [demonstration] software was now bundled in a way that made it free. Resellers can sell the full range now too,” he said. 

Sage Pastel’s products targets micro businesses with the My Business software system through to the full enterprise resource planning solution, Sage Pastel Evolution. 

Software Alliance Group continued to purchase its products from South Africa as the local Sage company doesn't carry the line.
