Melbourne-based Robert Hillard has taken over as CEO of Deloitte Asia Pacific, 18 years after he first joined the company.
For the last two years, he has served as the company's Asia Pacific consulting businesses leader, having also held such roles as Asia Pacific chief transformation officer and Australia chief strategy and innovation officer.
He joined in 2008 as the Australia enterprise information management leader after serving as MD of KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint, an independent management and technology consultancy.
Hillard takes over from David Hill, who himself has been at the company for over three decades, with his last four years spent serving in the Asia Pacific CEO role
In a post on LinkedIn, Hillard said his focus will be on ensuring operations across Asia Pacific are at the forefront of that shift, and that the company's people are equipped and confident to lead it.
"That means deepening our presence and responsiveness in local markets, building the next generation of client and technology capabilities, and ensuring Asia Pacific plays a stronger role in shaping the global decisions that affect it," he said.
"I would like to thank our former Asia Pacific CEO David Hill for his exceptional leadership over the past four years. David has built a strong foundation - one defined by growth, integrity, and a clear vision for the firm. I am grateful for his counsel and friendship, and for the example he has set.
"I also want to recognise Dennis Chow, who steps down as Asia Pacific Chair. Dennis has been a steady hand and a principled leader, and his commitment to the governance and integrity of this business has been unwavering. Thank you, Dennis.
"Lastly, I'm excited to work alongside Haruko Nagayama, our new Asia Pacific Chair, as we begin this next chapter together. To our people, our clients, and our partners across the region, thank you. I look forward to what we will build together."
