NetSuite buys back distie rights from NetReturn

Web-based business software vendor NetSuite has bought back the distribution rights of its suite of products from local distributor, NetReturn.

Craig Sullivan, vice president of international products at NetSuite, told CRN it had been working with the distie since 2003.

"We reviewed our business model for the region," he said.

"We looked at the needs of our channel and realised there should only be a single point of contact.

"It was a case of having a consistent operation, like we do in other markets."

Sullivan said NetReturn's resellers have been moved across to the vendor and it now has around 30-50 resellers in A/NZ.

While no resellers were lost during the transition, Sullivan conceded the sale has forced NetReturn to close its doors.

"NetSuite was 100 percent of NetReturn's business and the acquisition has forced it to wind down."

NetSuite has taken on around 10 employees from the distie, although its CEO Adrian Wong and three managers (hired in May) were no longer required.

"Adrian worked closely to aid the transition process," said Sullivan.

"We looked at the management structure and had no role for someone at that level and wish him all the best."

Sullivan said the company's healthy financial results meant it was looking to expand its reseller numbers.

"We are looking for partners in specific verticals like professional services," he said.
