Cybermate offering free SME cyber security awareness training to charities
Greg Caleo, Cybermate.

Australian cyber security training and awareness platform Cybermate is giving all Australian-registered charities free online access to its cyber security awareness training for SMEs.

Cybermate’s approach, ‘Psybersecurity',  leverages behavioural psychology, gamified training, simulated cyber-attacks and real-time threat alerts to reduce the risk of human-related cybersecurity breaches.

Australian-registered charities can sign up to the training via the Cybermate website. Upon verifying their charity status, they will gain complimentary full access to the platform’s premium tools and dedicated support throughout 2025.

Cybermate CEO Greg Caleo said the initiative is intended to remove the financial barriers to training staff about human-related cyber security risks.

“Charities do incredible work, often under challenging conditions, but financial constraints can prevent them from accessing effective cybersecurity resources, leaving charities exposed to breaches that can severely disrupt operations and impact vulnerable communities,” he said.

"We saw an urgent need to support their efforts by offering our training platform free of charge.”

Cybermate’s initiative aligns closely with the Australian Government's national cybersecurity strategy, which highlights the need to uplift the cyber capabilities of small businesses and charities.
