Distributor Cogita has signed three new resellers for Epicor manufacturing industry software in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.
The distributor said it had signed Precise Business Solutions in Perth, Syzygy in Brisbane and Intrinsic Software in Victoria, to cope with increased demand for Epicor software in the mid-market.
Bruce Cowper, director of sales at Cogita, said in a joint statement with Epicor Software that demand had been increasing in recent months for Epicor's .NET-based ERP software, Vantage 8.0.
"It is the first ERP product to be fully .NET-enabled. It is easily deployable," Cowper said.
Cogita was the exclusive Australian distributor for US-based Epicor's Vantage packages. Epicor specialises in applications for midsize enterprises.
"We needed to appoint several professional organisations that understand the needs of regional companies," Cowper said.
The three resellers had previously sold the Epicor brand but would add the Vantage range to its portfolio as a result of the deal, he said.
Cogita specialised in supplying ERP systems support for large engineering and manufacturing customers. It had been an Epicor partner since 2002, Cowper said.
Charles Hamilton, regional director at Epicor, said the vendor turned over around US$300 million a year, of which Australian earnings represented five percent.
About 60 percent of its Australian business was through the channel, he said.
Licensing revenue across the whole company for its first financial quarter ending 31 March was up 60 percent to US$67.3 million.
