Avnet offers new training courses for Lenovo System x and Flex

Avnet has expanded its partnership with Lenovo to offer new training courses for the vendor's System x and Flex servers.

Avnet Academy, the distributor's training division, will offer support to partners to develop, implement and maintain solutions using the Lenovo products.

The program is available in all countries Avnet operates in, including Australia. Avnet's UK and German subsidiaries are already running a pilot program that offers rewards for positioning training effectively and driving growth of education services.

“Education is key in ensuring that Avnet and our channel partners can take the most innovative technologies to market – first," said Michael Costigan, Avnet vice president of marketing, education and supplier management.

"With this latest edition to our global training offering, we can help our partners to enhance their own skills, but also to and expand their channel ecosystem to include new technologies and customers.”

Lenovo director of data centre group services training Alex Badia said the program "makes it simpler for partners and their customers to build up knowledge and become more highly qualified, which in turn helps them to transform technology into business solutions and further accelerate their success".

Avnet established the education services division in Asia-Pacific last year to offer flexible training and to enable services and solutions to partners in the region. It covers technologies such as big data, cloud, security, and converged and hyper-converged solutions.
