Avnet has launched an education services division in Asia Pacific, with Michael Costigan, regional vice president for marketing and business innovation, leading the business.
The new business unit will offer flexible training and enablement services and solutions to Avnet’s regional partners and suppliers.
Education services will cover technologies such as big data, cloud, security, and converged and hyper-converged solutions.
The division will operate alongside Avnet's five other business units: data centre, cloud, security and enterprise networking, cognitive computing and internet of things, and mobility.
Avnet president for Asia-Pacific William Chu said: "Education and enablement are an intrinsic part of the value Avnet brings to our partners and suppliers. Through this offering, we help our partners gain, or, deepen their technical expertise providing them an edge to seize greater opportunities in today’s rapidly evolving technologies and business environment."
