Anthropic names head of ANZ enterprise

Anthropic has named Nigel Mendonca as its head of ANZ enterprise.

He joins after just over a year as GM for APJ at data transformation software provider Coalesce.io.

Prior to this, he was at Smartsheet for close to five years, where he was VP and GM for APJ, and was country manager for ANZ at Tableau Software for close to five years before this.

"I'm incredibly excited to partner with enterprise and government orgs across Australia and New Zealand to leverage Frontier AI in ways that are truly impactful, safe and reliable," Mendonca said in a post on Linkedin.

"It's been a fascinating few days already onboarding in SF. Lots of hard work ahead back home, but I can't wait to get started!"

In June, David Masters joined Anthropic as its head of policy for ANZ, and in April, Theo Hourmouzis came onboard as GM of ANZ.

In March, the company announced its office opening in Sydney, Anthropic's fourth in Asia-Pacific, alongside Tokyo, Bengaluru, and Seoul.
