David Masters joins Anthropic as ANZ head of policy

David Masters has joined Anthropic as its head of policy for ANZ.

He previously spent nearly five-and-a-half years with Atlassian as its head of global public policy.

He’s also a board member of Future Skills Organisation, as well as a volunteer board member of the Tech Policy Design Institute and a former chair of the ICT Industry Reference Committee.

In a LinkedIn post, Masters reflected that AI is already proving to be the "most consequential technology development" in his lifetime and said it’s critical Australia plays a key role in AI’s development and deployment.

“I'm excited to be joining Anthropic, a company at the forefront of this technological moment with a strong belief in, and commitment to, acting responsibly,” he said.

“I look forward to creating a real two-way conversation with State and Federal governments.”
