Xbox beauty products waft into supermarkets

Microsoft’s Xbox has mutated into a range of beauty products for blokes.

The console has teamed with teen-bloke-oriented brand Lynx to create a body spray, deodorant, and shower gel.

CRN imagined the products would have either the sour smell of defeat, or the sweet scent of victory.

Xbox and Lynx have instead gone for "pulsing green citrus… top notes of kaffir lime and winter lemon, aromatic herbal middle notes of mint and sage, and woody bottom notes of patchouli and clearwood.”

CRN isn’t quite sure what to make of this: the prospect of smelling like a gamer doesn’t really excite us. Although perhaps the idea of not smelling like a gamer excites us too.

On a more serious note, that a technology brand has enough muscle to reach all the way into a weekly shopping trolley is surely notable.

CRN can’t quite see it happening for enterprise – the scent of a server is surely less enticing – but perhaps these products will become a staple of channel bathrooms around Australia?
