The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has issued an expression of interest (EOI) to buy ongoing software development and support and ICT professional services as a managed service for its Road Safety Systems Program (RSSP).
The RSSP covers mobile speed enforcement cameras, which TMR calls the Camera Detected Offence Program (CDOP). TMR maintains the program, with support from the Queensland Revenue Office.
TMR established the RSSP a year ago to replace legacy CDOP applications with modern software hosted in its AWS cloud environment. It’s expected the RSSP will go live with a minimum viable product in March of next year.
The RSSP has three workstreams: Camera and Image Data Management System (CIDMS); Planning and Scheduling Services (PSS); and Data, Analytics and Reporting Platform (DARP).
Among the RSSP’s objectives is a reduction in operational risk associated with end-of-life camera technology and services, as well as the ability to support future operating models by using modern application services and sustainable technologies.
Support for emerging enforcement technologies is also a priority, as is automation, advanced analytics, and evolving road safety requirements.
The initial contract term is expected to be two years, plus three 12-month extension options, taking the total contract term to five years.
The closing date for the EOI is 10:00AM on August 24.
In June, the TMR issued an RFI for the supply of market information to inform its business strategy and potential future sourcing scope and approach relating to an Identity Governance and Administration solution.
