The 34th INCITE Awards, presented by WAITTA and recognising excellence across the Western Australian technology landscape, has named telecommunications software company Norwood Systems the Dr Mal Bryce Tech Company of the Year.
The company, known for platforms like World Phone, CogVoice, and OpenSpan Call Protect, also won the Research & Innovation (Industry) Award on the night.
Chris Morrissey, founder and CEO of MSSP Ever Nimble, was named the Pearcey Foundation WA Entrepreneur of the Year.
Morrissey established Ever Nimble in Perth in 2018; it has since grown to be one of the biggest managed IT and security providers in Western Australia with nearly 100 employees and offices in Australia, Canada and the UK.
Earlier this year, Ever Nimble appointed Paul Walters to lead its expansion into Queensland.
"Starting with zero revenue in the world’s most isolated capital, [Chris] took extraordinary risks to build one of Western Australia’s most successful global MSPs, reshaping cyber security for small and medium businesses across multiple countries,” said Glenn Butcher, chief judge of the INCITE Awards.
“As a visionary force in tech, Chris has not only defied the odds to lead industry transformation, but has also broken barriers in a male-dominated field — championing diversity, mentoring underrepresented talent, and creating an inclusive, values-driven culture that’s redefining what leadership in IT looks like.”
Morrissey said since arriving in Perth 13 years ago, he has been inspired by the sheer number of business owners, start-ups, and innovators who make the region truly unique.
"Ever Nimble’s journey was shaped by the trust larger businesses placed in us as a start-up, and I urge others to take a chance on emerging entrepreneurs who consistently go above and beyond," he said.
"That early support fuelled our drive to build a globally recognised IT and cybersecurity company, delivering cutting-edge technology to small and medium-sized businesses."
