New channel partners get Wyse at party

Three local companies -- Volante Systems, Clariti and Logi-Tech -- have won gongs in an inaugural Australasian channel partner awards ceremony held by thin client vendor Wyse this week.

Wyse, which announced its first channel program last year, singled out NSW-based services provider Volante Systems as its best national sales partner for 2004.

Best regional sales partner was services provider Clariti, from Queensland.

The vendor also announced its first Platinum partner -- Logi-Tech, a system integrator from South Australia.

At a cocktail party for partners, media and customers at the Watershed Hotel in Sydney's glitzy Darling Harbour, Rick Ferguson, GM for Wyse Australia and New Zealand, said the company aimed to build up its channel.

Its program included market development funds and lead generation, he said.

Logi-Tech had invested in a lot of the vendor's 'Wyse University' online training. 'They will get an additional 0.5 percent in market development funds [as a platinum partner],' Ferguson said.

The company was encouraging all partners to do its online training, Ferguson said.

Wyse claims to have 69 percent of the thin client market, based on figures released by IDC.
