Microsoft targets SMBs with Copilot-focused, partner-led trial

Microsoft is introducing Copilot in 30, a new Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partner-led trial offering designed for SMBs to get hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot Business and explore use cases through a structured 30-day experience.

Built for organisations with fewer than 300 employees, Copilot in 30 combines a new 25-user, 30-day Microsoft 365 Copilot Business trial with resources and guidance that partners can use to help customers get started and assess potential value.

The trial offer will be available in CSP starting August 1, 2026.

Copilot in 30 features include customer-targeting guidance through ASPX and CloudAscent to identify the right Copilot opportunities; email marketing campaigns to generate awareness and drive trial activation; and setup guides and adoption content with the aim of helping customers realise value quickly.

It also includes offer development and conversion guidance to help turn successful evaluations into paid deployments, as well as a 30-day success planner tool, coming mid-August, to help customers focus on the right users, use cases, and success metrics.

For partners, Microsoft touted the trial offering as an opportunity to turn customer interest in AI into a clear, repeatable path for Copilot adoption and growth, with the ability to build a repeatable Copilot acquisition motion across Microsoft 365 Business customers.

Partners that techpartner.news contacted recently shared that while Copilot interest is high, customer adoption remains highly selective as the realities of scale deployment sink in and alternate AI tools and LLMs gain attention.
