Kinetic IT has been awarded a new $250 million IT services contract with the Western Australian Police Force, extending a partnership that began in 2008.
The agreement, designated WAPOL04124 Provision of ICT Infrastructure Services, covers four service towers and is now fully transitioned into live support. Each tower carries an initial term of three to five years, with extension options of two to three years per service line.
Under the contract, Kinetic IT supports the Force's 15 districts, more than 200 police facilities, approximately 6,800 officers and 2,000 support staff operating across 2.5 million square kilometres - the world's largest policing jurisdiction by area.
Services delivered by the Perth-based managed services provider include service desk, incident and change management, ServiceNow support, cyber security monitoring and governance, and management of cloud platforms, servers, storage and backups.
Kinetic IT also provides end-user services covering desktop and field support at remote sites, Microsoft 365 and meeting room technology, and a desktop-as-a-service model for device fleet management.
Leighton Freene, managing director for defence, federal government and national security at Kinetic IT, said the company had worked alongside the Force for nearly 20 years through significant events including the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Our teams work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Western Australian Police Force to ensure the technology the frontline relies on is resilient, secure, and ready, whether it's a routine day or a moment of national importance," Freene said.
"This new agreement reinforces our work together, built on shared purpose, long-term commitment and a focus on enabling the WA Police Force to continue serving and protecting the Western Australian community."
Kinetic IT first collaborated with the Force in 2008 under contract 42007 Provision of Infrastructure Services.
