ASX-listed Activeport Group has signed a stage-one contract worth more than A$1 million with Microscan Infocommtech Private Limited, Mumbai's largest independent fibre operator, to deploy its network orchestration software across a new pan-India Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform.

The agreement puts Activeport's portal and provisioning software across Microscan's fibre backbone spanning more than 1,800 kilometres, connecting every major data centre, cable landing station and thousands of enterprise buildings across India.

Under the deal, Microscan customers will be able to order on-demand connectivity between data centres and enterprise buildings, access IP transit, and connect to neo-cloud and enterprise cloud on-ramps across the country.

Activeport said licence fees are expected to scale as the number of services on the platform grows, with AI-driven demand and API-based trading of connectivity, GPU and cloud capacity expected to accelerate uptake.

The company said the platform is expected to go live before the end of 2026, with a phased national rollout across Microscan's fibre footprint in the first six months.

A second stage incorporating additional network-security products and functionality is being pursued, subject to final commercial terms, with Activeport's chief operating officer Michael Glynn flagging a stage-two contract announcement in early 2027.

"AI is driving explosive growth across India's data centre and network markets, and the winners will be the operators whose infrastructure can be provisioned and managed in real time," Glynn said.

"We're proud that one of India's largest independent network owners has chosen Activeport to make that leap."
