John Ieraci swaps Telstra for Vocus

John Ieraci, who spent close to two decades at Telstra, has joined Vocus as the company's MD of business and digital infrastructure, effective October 1 2026.

He first joined Telstra back in 2007 as director of product transformation, before taking over as director of IP data and security product portfolio management two years later.

He then went on to hold positions such as practice lead for managed security services, sales director of key accounts and head of enterprise and government for VIC and TAS.

In 2018, he was named chief customer officer of Telstra Enterprise, following the departure of Andrew Wildblood; four years later, he became the executive director for defence and public sector. In 2024, he was appointed head of Telstra Purple, the company's technology business.

Andrés Irlando, Vocus chief executive officer, said in a post on LinkedIn that Ieraci will lead the company's business-to-business go-to-market function, including product, marketing, and the various sales organisations.

"He brings more than 35 years of experience across telecommunications and technology in Australia and Europe. He has led sales, services, product management and transformation functions, building disciplined, methodical teams that put customers and execution first," he said.

Ieraci is the third senior appointment Vocus has made so far this year; in May, Nikos Katinakis joined as CTO, and last month, Ben Chan came onboard in the dual role of chief AI officer and MD of consumer.
