Telstra has promoted John Ieraci to lead its technology services business Telstra Purple.

He replaces Oliver Camplin-Warner, who was promoted to the role of group executive of Telstra Enterprise in February.

Ieraci has held multiple leadership roles during his 17 years in Telstra’s enterprise business, most recently leading its government sales team as group owner of defence and public sector.

He previously held leadership roles in the services business that became Telstra Purple in 2019, and prior to joining Telstra, served in global roles leading growth portfolios and business development.

“This role is particularly exciting to me as I’ve been involved with Telstra Purple since the beginning, playing a role in developing our technology services strategy and worked on our very first services acquisitions," Ieraci said.

"This is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference for Australian industries and government, backed by a team of exceptional talent and partners.”

Telstra Purple has more than 2,000 local staff that deliver services spanning networking, IoT, cybersecurity, cloud, data, AI and workplace technologies.

In October 2023, Telstra acquired Melbourne AWS consultancy Versent to help accelerate growth opportunities for Telstra Purple.

“I have never met anyone who is so focused on real customer outcomes as John," Camplin-Warner said.

"He’s someone that works in close partnership to solve problems through technology solutions and finds opportunities that make a real difference for our customers."

“It’s this, combined with his focus on nurturing our people, the potential of future tech and building strong relationships with partners, that makes me so excited to see John step into this role."

"With John’s passion for our Telstra Purple business, I believe we can continue to build on the impact we have with Australia’s biggest industries and government partners.”
