Interactive has named Anneliese McDowell as MD of cyber security, which includes Slipstream Cyber, a wholly owned business of Interactive.
She joins Interactive from CyberCX, where she most recently served as executive director of strategy and consulting, and prior to that, executive director of telecommunications, media and the technology industry.
McDowell has also held managerial positions at the likes of Telstra and Accenture.
In her new role, she will be responsible for delivering a suite of cyber security services including Active Defence, Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR), cyber advisory services and a sovereign 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) delivered from Australia.
Slipstream operates an Australian-based, 24/7 SOC and advisory services, including active defence, digital forensics and incident response services.
"Cyber security is no longer simply about protecting technology. It's about enabling organisations to operate with confidence, manage risk and build resilience in an environment where cyber threats continue to evolve,” McDowell said.
"What attracted me to the business is its strong technical capability, customer-first culture and commitment to delivering sovereign cyber security services backed by local expertise. I'm excited to work alongside the team as we continue helping Australian organisations strengthen their security posture and respond confidently when incidents occur."
"We know Australian organisations are increasingly seeking cyber security partners who understand the local market, operate locally and can respond quickly when it matters most," said Chief Executive Officer at Interactive, Alex Coates,
"Anneliese brings deep industry experience, strategic expertise and a proven track record of helping organisations strengthen their cyber resilience. She has led large consulting teams, advised executive leadership and boards, and understands how to translate complex cyber challenges into practical business outcomes.”
Last month, Lizzy Jones was appointed as head of data and AI at Interactive to lead the next phase of the company's Data & AI practice, reflecting the organisation’s shift from building internal capability to scaling its impact through customer adoption.
