Hills signs wireless vendor targeting drones and IoT

Hills has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with wireless technology manufacturer G8 Communications.

It is the first time that US-headquarted GC8 has signed a distribution agreement outside the US, however, the vendor is actually publicly listed on the ASX, folllowing a reverse acquisition of West Perth exploration company Leopard Resources in 2015.

Hills's Australian & New Zealand distribution deal includes two Machine Connect modems for applications such as connectivity and communication device for drones, robotics, security and surveillance.

The EM1000T modem is used for vending machine POS terminals, while the ER1000T router is a cloud-managed, industrial-grade router for connecting machine-to-machine devices.

Hills will also distribute the CIO Live Eye 1000, a 3G-4G live streaming video camera.

Hills is an Australian publicly listed company with more than 600 employees across 26 branches in Australia and New Zealand.

Other Hills vendors include IP security providers Genetec and Tyco, intelligent building company UTC and wireless vendor Ruckus, which was named Hills' its distributor of the year 2015 for ANZ.
