Under the agreement, Express Data is the only Plantronics authorised specialist unified communications distributor in Australia.
Express Data's general manager for vendors, David Peach said unified communications is growing at a considerable pace, not just in the quality, but also in breadth.
"In the past it might only have been call-centre operators who required headsets, now considering the amount of time the average office worker multi-tasks while on the telephone, they also need them," said Peach.
Plantronics designs and builds lightweight communications headset products. The vendor introduced its first lightweight communications headset in 1962.
It is currently used in air-traffic control, emergency dispatch and the New York Stock Exchange.
Plantronics general manager Graeme Gherbaz said he felt Express Data had the broadest range of complementary products and strongest reputation in the market.
"Furthermore, both Express Data and Plantronics have very similar philosophies, particularly in the areas of commitment to quality service and a dedication to UC solutions that add true business value and ROI," said Graeme.
