A new software partnership is aiming to make it easier for resellers to offer file migration solutions to their clients.
Data migration software vendor Datadobi has appointed Westcon-Comstor and Tech Data’s Technology Solutions business as its distribution partners for the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.
Datadobi said it wanted to relieve end-users of the difficult and laborious task of data mobility.
Westcon-Comstor and Technology Solutions will now offer DobiMiner software, which is designed to help transitions from legacy platforms to next-generation storage.
Datadobi APJ regional director Andy Milburn said migration is a key part of almost every storage refresh, whether storage remains on site or moves to the cloud.
“Traditionally, data migration has been time-consuming, complex and risky, and as a consequence not something that was offered by the majority of partners,” he said.
“By using DobiMiner, Technology Solutions and Westcon can now enable all of their partners to include migration services as part of every appropriate storage opportunity.
“With DobiMiner, new systems will be deployed rapidly and customers will quickly realise the TCO improvements offered by storage vendors – most of which assume an early decommissioning of existing equipment.”
Datadobi is headquartered in Belgium. Westcon-Comstor has its head office in Sydney. Technology Solutions, which was formerly a division of Avnet, is now a division of US-based Tech Data.
