CyberPath, the pilot program designed to professionalise Australia’s cyber security workforce, has surpassed 2,000 "community touchpoints" during September as it transitions from framework development into pilot planning.
The program released its Draft Capability Framework v0.1 for public consultation during the month, drawing 330 community contributions from 68 collaborators across industry, government, education and practitioner communities, according to the program's September update.
A new 'Get Involved' page was also launched during the period, opening formal pathways for practitioners, employers, educators and government stakeholders to contribute to the program's development.
CyberPath said its current focus is reviewing feedback from the Capability Framework consultation, preparing consultation activities for its Pathways and Recognition Frameworks, and refining pilot requirements, user journeys and value propositions for employers, practitioners and learners.
In March, the Australian Computer Society held a number of nationwide industry consultations on the proposed upcoming cyber professionalisation framework.
That scheme - now given the title of 'CyberPath: Paving the way forward for Cyber Professionals' - is a 24-month pilot program designed to professionalise Australia’s cyber security workforce, bringing together industry leaders, educators and professionals to shape a national approach to cyber security career development and standards.
