The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is holding a number of nationwide industry consultations on the proposed upcoming cyber professionalisation framework.

Each session will feature a presentation of the Draft Professionalisation Framework, an industry panel exploring key implications and questions and a consultation session with the audience to provide input that will shape the final framework.

ACS won an Australian Government grant of $1.9 million back in November to co-design and pilot a voluntary national Cyber Security Professionalisation Scheme.

That scheme - now given the title of 'CyberPath: Paving the way forward for Cyber Professionals' - is a 24-month pilot program designed to professionalise Australia’s cyber security workforce, bringing together industry leaders, educators and professionals to shape a national approach to cyber security career development and standards.

ACS has entered into a consortium partnership with the Australian Information Security Association (AISA), the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (Aus3C) and the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN) to implement CyberPath.

ACS is working together with those three partners to host the series of free sessions across the capital cities of Australia during the month of March.

"These consultation sessions are a valuable opportunity to gather diverse perspectives from industry to shape how the pilot model for cyber professionalisation is developed," ACS said.

A session in Hobart took place last Wednesday, with Canberra (11 March), Adelaide (16 March), Perth (18 March), Sydney (24 March), Brisbane (25 March), Darwin (27 March) and Melbourne (31 March) all upcoming.

Two online sessions are also happening on 10 March and 26 March.
