Okta expands Google Cloud partnership to secure AI agents

Okta has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud, introducing integrations that extend enterprise identity security and governance to AI agents across the modern work stack.

The integrations span Google’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Chrome Enterprise, and are pitched at helping organisations secure and govern AI agents in much the same way they already manage human identities.

Available now, Auth0 for AI Agents integrates with Agent Runtime on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, giving developers a way to embed user authentication, OAuth token management, human-in-the-loop approvals and fine-grained authorisation into agent workflows as they move from pilot to production.

A forthcoming release, Okta for AI Agents, will integrate with the platform to import and register agents in a central directory, tie each to a human owner, and enforce access policies through the Google Agent Gateway.

On the browser side, Okta and Chrome Enterprise integrations add real-time device-posture checks, universal enrolment of managed Chrome profiles on any device, and support for Device Bound Session Credentials (DBSC), a standard designed to stop attackers reusing stolen session cookies on another device.

Okta worked with Google Cloud as a design partner on DBSC.
