Brennan launches Innovation Foundry as managed service for Australian businesses

Australian technology company Brennan has launched the Brennan Innovation Foundry, a managed innovation capability designed to help organisations capture, assess and scale business ideas into measurable outcomes.

The service combines structured idea capture and prioritisation tools with reusable AI skills, rapid prototyping and in-platform reporting, giving leadership visibility across an innovation pipeline from early concept through to delivered solution.

Brennan founder and managing director Dave Stevens said the core problem for most organisations was not a lack of ideas or access to technology, but the absence of a disciplined way to manage innovation as an ongoing business process.

"Businesses have established systems to manage finance, people and customer service, but innovation is often treated in an ad-hoc way, relying on unstructured emails, spreadsheets, disconnected teams, and one-off pilot programs," he said.

"There is no shortage of innovative ideas coming from staff and customers, but what businesses lack is a visible and governed way to determine which of them will support the business strategy, deliver value and are worthy of investment."

Brennan tested the Foundry internally before offering it to customers.

Since April, the internal platform has received and assessed more than 230 ideas, of which 30 have progressed to delivered outcomes including AI agents, workflow automations, platform integrations, operational dashboards and security and compliance solutions.

One output is the Brennan Skills Marketplace, which houses more than 30 reusable AI skills, workflows and automation patterns aimed at reducing duplicated development work.

One example of the productivity gains achieved internally was the automation of Brennan's vulnerability-assessment process, which the company said was saving up to five hours of manual engineering work per incident.

The company stated that the Foundry had generated more innovation inside Brennan in the past six months than in the previous three years combined.

"The objective is not to pursue every idea. It is to test ideas earlier, stop those that do not demonstrate sufficient value and invest with greater confidence in those that do," Stevens said.
