Australian cloud security vendor FirstWave signs distribution deal with Ingram Micro

Australian cloud security provider FirstWave Cloud Technology has signed up Ingram Micro as its first distributor for its mail security solution.

The new partnership will see Ingram offer FirstCloud Mail to its partner base. The mail security product was initially built for global telcos as a security-as-a-service solution, combining FirstWave's ESP deep analytics technology with Cisco's advanced threat protection hosted on a multi-tenanted public cloud.

“FirstWave is proud to have Ingram Micro as its first distribution partner for our recently launched public cloud platform," said FirstWave chief revenue officer Andrew Chamberlain.

"Ingram Micro is a well-established and respected leader in the cloud services distribution globally and we are looking forward to working with the team, providing them with an industry-leading cloud security solution for their partners."

Commenting on the new vendor addition, Felix Wong, Ingram chief country executive ANZ, said: “Ingram Micro’s objective is to enhance the value proposition offered to our business partners with the highest quality vendor solutions and a comprehensive range of services and trainings.

"We have seen significant growth in the global SaaS market over the past few years and we are excited to be able to tap into that further by offering our customers and partners in Australia FirstWave’s unique public cloud email security solution.”

Late last year, FirstWave successfully raised $4.35 million as part of its international growth strategy, which includes developing a new go-to-market channel and commercial models.
