Vic Education reveals $495 million IT services panel

The Victorian Department of Education and Training has revealed a new intake of suppliers for its $495 million IT services panel.

The 110 suppliers get access to compete for technology and IT support work across 2,500 Victorian schools under its service delivery managers and specialist technician panels.

The panel is refreshed every five years and members are invited to reapply each year. The specialist technician panel grew to 110 members since the last refresh, with 53 new suppliers making the list.

New additions to the panel include major national IT providers NEC Australia and JB Hi-Fi Education Solutions.

Network Neighbourhood was listed as a supplier in the previous panel, but was changed to JB Hi-Fi Solutions when it was acquired in 2013.

Other new providers include Advanced Vision Technology, AGL Technology and Learning with Technology.

The service delivery panel has just six suppliers, up one from last year. These include Fastech, Kaliam, Lorraine Watson, My Tech Help, Network Performance and TLS Network Solutions.

Previous service delivery providers Empired and Charterhouse were not listed in the latest refresh.

To avoid a conflict of interest, suppliers can only be on one panel, not both.

Both panels will continue for at least the next two years, with the option for two potential extensions of two years each.

The department said it didn’t expect any individual contract to exceed $10 million.

The Victorian government also has a hardware supplier panel for end user computing, which was last refreshed in November 2014.
