Award-winning Melbourne AWS partner Versent has a new leader: Rob Frendo has been promoted from general manager of professional services to managing director.
The promotion reflects Versent founder and CEO Thor Essman’s desire to have a dedicated leader for Australia and the region, as he focuses on growing the group.
“Australia will forever be Versent’s home and to ensure we don’t lose focus, impact the outcomes we deliver for our customers, or the culture of Versent, we have created the Managing Director role,” Essman said. “ Rob has actually been transitioning into this role for the past 14 months. He has earned my complete trust and respect, and I’m confident he will do a stellar job leading our Australia and Asia Pacific businesses.”
Essman will continue as Versent’s CEO, but with a renewed focus on the Versent Group, including new platform division Ping Cloud Private Tenant in partnership with Ping Identity, and product division Stax.
Frendo joined Versent in August 2018. A prepared statement about his promotion says he “has focused on guiding the business through its hyper phase of growth with 50 percent Year on Year growth.”
“As Managing Director of Versent, Rob will be responsible for driving Versent services across Australia and Singapore, with a particular focus on cloud adoption, data engineering & analytics, managed services, application modernisation, digital and open banking,” the statement adds.
“Our people and customers always come first – and that is a position I will continue to champion while in this role,” said Frendo.
Versent has won partner awards from AWS and Snowflake, placed strongly in the CRN Fast 50, In 2019 it teamed with Insentra to deliver cloud services and acquired fellow AWS partner Contexti.
