Veeam updates partner portal

Veeam Software has announced it will launch a revamped worldwide partner portal next week that offers partners more customised special offers and materials.

The company, which provides systems management tools for VMware virtual data centre environments, is distributed in Australia by partners including Infotronics.

But it also announced today a deal to expand distribution in North and South America via Ingram Micro.

Although not included in the scope of the initial agreement, it was unclear whether the Americas agreement could be expanded to include distribution in Australia.

A spokesperson for Ingram Micro locally could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.

Veeam also said in a statement that its updated Veeam ProPartner Portal "would offer a customised experience by region and partner level, more sales and marketing tools and documents, [and] new case studies.

"Gold, Silver and Basic ProPartners will see special offers and programs open only to them," the firm said.

"Upcoming events and training will be listed by local geographic area, to save partners time in quickly identifying opportunities of most interest to them."

Veeam cited two examples of aggressive discounts it was offering through the channel "to help [partners] make the most of every VMware engagement."

They included a 40 percent discount to end-user customers when replacing a competitive product with Veeam Backup & Replication.
