Synnex Australia deploys HIKROBOT warehouse automation

Synnex Australia has launched major warehouse automation projects at its Melbourne and Sydney logistics facilities, deploying HIKROBOT robotics technology under a Global Cooperation Agreement signed between HIKROBOT and Synnex Group.

The Melbourne deployment marks the first Synnex site in the APAC region to implement autonomous mobile robot (AMR) automation; the Sydney rollout follows as part of the same initiative.

Both sites will deploy HIKROBOT's hybrid robotics automation solutions alongside the vendor's Robot Control System (RCS-2000) and intelligent Warehouse Management System (iWMS), targeting material handling, storage, inventory management and order fulfilment.

The Melbourne facility already operates a 34-metre-high automated high-bay warehouse, which the companies said creates a foundation for integrating the new robotics layer.

The Global Cooperation Agreement names HIKROBOT as Synnex Group's Global Robotic Automation Partner, covering the full lifecycle of AGV, AMR, STU, robotic arm and machine vision solutions - from design and equipment supply through to implementation, technical support and maintenance.

The companies said the deployments are expected to improve operational safety and efficiency, increase warehouse throughput, enhance digital inventory management and optimise space utilisation. Beyond the initial two sites, both organisations said they would explore opportunities to standardise and scale automation solutions across additional Synnex facilities in ANZ and globally.
