Symantec paid tribute today to its top channel partners in the Pacific region at an event in Sydney.
The Symantec Vision partner awards recognise companies that have innovated in the delivery of Symantec’s security, availability and systems management solutions to customers either through physical, virtual or cloud channels.
Specific criteria included revenue, deal registration, technical and marketing investments, customer service and achievement of Symantec specialisation.
The 2011 winners across six categories were:
- Pacific Distributor of the Year: Datastor
- Small/Medium Business Partner of the Year in Pacific: Dell
- Specialised Partner of the Year in Pacific: Data#3
- Specialised Growth Partner of the Year for Australia: Fujitsu
- Specialised Growth Partner of the Year for New Zealand: Gen-i
- Specialised Services Partner of the Year in Pacific: Thomas Duryea
David Dzienciol, Symantec vice president, channels and SMB, Asia Pacific and Japan said the channel had played a key role in driving sales for the company this year and that it was committed to exploring opportunities to grow sales opportunities, growth and profitability.
He noted that 2011 was a landmark year for the company’s channel which gained access to the enhanced Symantec partner program, which offers solution specialisations to partners.
Brisbane integrator Data#3 was awarded Symantec’s specialised partner of the year award for the fourth year running.
“Working with Symantec to build secure environments has never been more valuable,” said Laurence Baynham, Data#3 group general manager.
“As our customers consider a range of consumption models and increasingly opt for public, trusted and private cloud-based solutions, protecting their data continues to be a primary consideration.”
The award comes after Data#3 received its Symantec master specialisation in data protection, archiving and discovery after satisfying the requirements for advanced technical and consulting services.
The specialisation equips partners to deploy and support the full range of capabilities offered by Symantec’s enterprise vault archiving and data management software.
“The two master specialisations achieved by Data#3 recognise partners’ ability to deliver advanced consulting, technical and service to their customers,” Dzienciol said.
“Master specialist partners have demonstrated deep investment in Symantec and an expertise in delivering advanced services and solutions to protect customers’ most critical information.”
