SmartStream expands APAC team

Walsh is responsible for managing existing and recruiting new industry partners to build on SmartStream’s growth in the region and will be looking at new countries and industry sectors to work in.

SmartStream, through its established Partner Program, is actively looking to recruit distributors in new geographies, work with System Integrators and broaden its professional services capacity through local implementation partners.

“Mike is stepping into a newly created role, demonstrating the expanding opportunities we’re seeing for SmartStream in the Asia Pacific region,” said Richard Cummings, regional director, APAC, SmartStream.

“We already have a strong presence within the financial services sector and this appointment will allow us to expand our customer base into other industries, especially those dealing with a large number of international transactions.”

Walsh, who holds British and Australian citizenship, joins SmartStream after 21 years in sales, marketing and general management roles at leading information provider, Thomson Reuters.

This included 13 years in Asia Pacific with eight of those spent based in Australia.

According to Cummings, partners play a valuable role by supplementing SmartStream’s technology and solution expertise with their insight into local market needs.

Walsh will support the company’s partners in the region, as well as identifying ones that can broaden the company’s presence.
