Storage vendor Seagate has launched its data recovery service in Australia, delivered through two distributors.
Seagate Rescue is a protective plan that covers the recovery of data lost through "physical damage, corruption or accidental deletion" for up to three years. According to the vendor, the service has a "90 percent success rate" with the restoration typically executed within two weeks.
The Australian service is now available specifically for the Seagate Surveillance HDD product line. Two security specialist distributors have been appointed to deliver the program – RhinoCo Technology and Q Security Systems.
"Video surveillance data is invaluable to the user to either meet industry regulations or leverage for content analysis or security," said Rex Dong, Seagate Technology's Asia managing director. "We are delighted to offer Seagate Rescue services to Australian customers… and address these issues head on."
RhinoCo Technology sales engineer Nathan Walters said that Seagate Rescue would provide "a guaranteed disaster recovery plan" for customers that would offer assurance of retrieval of the "most crucial video footage".
Q Security Systems national product manager Stanley El Komala said: "We are looking forward to working with Seagate and being able to offer surveillance and Rescue services for the DVR and NVR (network video recorder) storage applications."
Seagate's announcement comes amidst Ingram Micro Australia's recent efforts to make inroads into the physical security field.
