RingCentral releases AI Receptionist in Australia

RingCentral’s AI Receptionist, a generative artificial intelligence phone agent, is now available in Australia.

It is an add-on feature for both existing RingCentral users as well as for new customers that was first unveiled to selected US businesses earlier this year.

It uses generative AI with context from websites and documents to answer routine customer questions about a company’s services, business hours, and location.

Ringcentral claimed the agent can scans a company's website for key information, requires no IT support and is easily customisable by any team member.

Sales leads will be uploaded into Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho or the AI Receptionist database, with the system providing call analytics and insights to track resolution rates and cost savings.

Calls can be transferred to external numbers if required, and the product can have multiple instances deployed for different business locations.

Businesses can select the voice and caller experience that best represents their brand, with AIR able to handle calls in US, UK and Australian English; Spanish; and French, including Canadian French.

The product includes security controls, as well as local content data storage to safeguard caller information.

RingCentral Australian country manager Adam Boreham said demand for the product was high in North America with more than 5,000 organisations implementing it.

"We’ve already had intense interest in AIR from existing Australian customers and our partners," he said.

"It makes a powerful AI phone agent broadly accessible to businesses of all sizes, enhancing their existing customer service responsiveness and giving them a simple, cost-effective 24/7 front desk."

In April, RingCentral announced the first Australian partners to join its Certified Delivery Partner (CDP) program for RingCX, the company's AI-powered contact centre as a service platform.
