Rhipe co-founder steps down

Rhipe co-founder Dawn Edmonds is stepping down from running the day-to-day operations as chief operating officer of the company.

She will remain on Rhipe's board of directors in an advisory role, while her prior responsibilities will be distributed across the rest of the distributor's executive team.

Edmonds thanked the team for supporting her decision to step back.

"It's been an incredible journey from a two-person partnership to a publically listed ASX company. I'm very proud of this business and all we have built and achieved," she said.

"After 13 years, I am excited about the boundless opportunities ahead for Rhipe and I'm really excited about the new opportunities for me, including time out over the summer with my family."

Edmonds co-founded Rhipe with the late Douglas Tutus in 2003 as NewLease. In 2014, the company listed on the ASX in a reverse takeover with shell company FRR Corporation, changing its name to Rhipe. The company now has an annual turnover of $143 million and is one of the largest cloud-focused distributors in Australia.

Chief executive Dominic O'Hanlon said Edmonds would continue working with Rhipe as a non-executive director.

"With a strong and experienced executive leadership team in place we believe Rhipe can accommodate this change while retaining the benefit of Dawn's industry and company knowledge at a board level," he said.

Rhipe also announced that it hired Mark McLellan as its new chief financial officer. Prior to joining Rhipe, McLennan spent 12 years at The Royal Bank of Scotland in the UK working in the strategy and corporate development group. He has also worked with global consultancy firms PwC and EY.

"Having worked with global firms like PwC and EY, Mark brings both a global outlook and a forensic analytical skillset to our business and leadership team. Rhipe's growth and innovation goals will be well supported by Mark," O'Hanlon said.
