Cloud distributor rhipe has appointed Gary Cox as a non-executive director and chair of the company, following Mike Hill’s resignation from the board after five years of service.
Cox has more that 30 years of global experience in the IT industry, including senior roles with Microsoft and EMC.
At Microsoft, between 2010 and 2015, Cox was vice president for enterprise and partner business for Microsoft Asia. Prior to that, he held other other executives roles at the software giant in Asia and Australia.
Cox has also worked as the head of EMC’s Australia based global services division, where he was responsible for building and executing a managed-services business strategy.
“I am very excited to join the board of rhipe as it continue to evolve its cloud offerings and develop its geographical expansion strategy,” Cox said of his appointment.
“I look forward to the opportunity to provider regional, strategic and leadership insights to the board and the company as it continues along its growth trajectory.”
Departing chairman Hill said it had been a pleasure serving rhipe’s board since the company's listing.
“The company is in great hands with Gary as chair and will benefit from his experience in the sector,” he said.
Rhipe managing director Dominic O’Hanlon welcomed Cox to the board, saying: “Gary’s leadership experience across Asia will be a great advantage to rhipe as we continue to grow and develop our operations in the region, as will his deep understanding of the evolving cloud industry and our leading vendors.”
