Queensland's Entag scores $2m networking deal with Cura Day Hospitals Group

Sunshine Coast-based ICT solutions provider Entag has entered into a three-year, $2 million strategic partnership with Cura Day Hospitals Group to deploy a security network powered by Telstra's Adaptive Networks.

The agreement follows the recent acquisition of Brisbane-based Cura Day Hospitals Group by global asset management firm Intermediate Capital Group.

Entag has started rolling out the network upgrade to enhance visibility and control of traffic within 30 Cura Day Hospitals Group sites using Telstra's adaptive network platform and Fortinet Secure Networking and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions.

"This strategic partnership underscores our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions that prioritise the security and efficiency of our network across the 30 sites we operate across all states and territories in Australia," stated Charl Ingram, CIO at Cura Day Hospitals Group.

Entag will lead the deployment and management of the project, which will include continuous monitoring and managed services.

"We hosted several workshops with the Cura Day team to identify the business drivers that led to this network upgrade,” stated Entag CEO Kris Carver.

“Firstly, we needed to develop a solution that offered greater agility, enabling quick and easy deployment of new sites, applications and services without relying on the legacy MPLS or data centre infrastructure.”

"Secondly, we sought to leverage the internet as a transport medium for the client’s network, thereby offering more bandwidth, lower costs and better access to cloud services. And finally, we enhanced the overall security fabric features of the network.”

"In line with their goals to ensure enhanced visibility and control of traffic within and across Cura Day Hospitals Group’s sites, we’re deploying Fortinet FortiGate firewalls at each site.”

"The high-level architecture will involve the utilisation of Telstra Internet Direct (TID) Fibre links with cellular failover using Fortinet FortiGate-70F appliances as the networking infrastructure," he explained.

"We anticipate up to 100 individuals within Entag alone being involved in this endeavour, with potential for further organic growth as the partnership flourishes over the next three years,” Carver said.
