Brisbane 2032 seeks network equipment provider for all Games venues

Brisbane 2032 is inviting expressions of interest in providing the network equipment for all Brisbane 2032 Games venues.

The opportunity, which closes on May 31, 2026, is to design, deploy and integrate and provide “Games time” support of in-venue network infrastructure equipment and associated services at all Brisbane 2032 venues.

This will support Brisbane 2032 results, timing and scoring, broadcasting, media operations, workforce communications and venue management.

The work package is suitable for a “formal Partnership arrangement, with the opportunity to secure exclusive rights and benefits.” The successful company “has the opportunity to supply and be named the Network Equipment Provider (NEP) Partner”.

According to the EOI, this category typically includes a “strong sponsorship offer (VIK / Cash)”. Suppliers with the capability, capacity, financial ability and an interest in becoming the NEP Partner are “strongly encouraged” to submit a full scope registration.

Brisbane 2032 is looking for businesses interested in being a Partner for this work package and capable of contributing through a “significant investment”.

On the technical side, it wants “comprehensive in-venue network capability”, including switching and routing infrastructure in venues, large-scale wired connectivity for operational areas, media, OBS, timing/scoring and Games systems, “pervasive” Wi-Fi throughout indoor and outdoor spaces, including high density zones (press, broadcast, workforce, operations), and high-density Wi-Fi design and optimisation to support peak operational demand scenarios.

The supplier will need to coordinate with venue infrastructure providers for structured copper and fibre cabling.

The supplier will also need to provider network monitoring tools, dashboards, and alerting capabilities for in-venue infrastructure, remote management capabilities, integration of network monitoring and management tools and resources within the Technology Operations Centre (TOC) for Games-time visibility and coordination, and support for automation and analytics to enhance network performance, visibility, and operational efficiency.

All network infrastructure must support the Games’ cyber security framework.

The partner will also need to provide on-site and remote technical support for network equipment throughout testing and Games time, incident support, hardware replacement capability, and escalation support for network infrastructure.

Solutions should “reflect sustainable Games principles”, including use of energy efficient equipment, re-use or re-deployment options wherever feasible, and minimisation of physical footprint and “efficient installation approaches”.
