QLD council seeks new ERP system

Queensland's Hinchinbrook Shire Council (Council) has released a tender for the provision, implementation, and ongoing support of an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to replace Council’s existing platform.

Hinchinbrook Shire Council delivers local government services across a geographically diverse region over an hour’s drive north of Townsville, with an agricultural base, coastal communities and seasonal population fluctuations.

Council is progressively building its digital footprint and employing the use of AI to assist with process automation.

Within this context, Council requires a modern, secure, and efficient ERP to support its essential operations including finance, property and rating, customer service (customer request management and online self-service portal), asset management, regulatory functions, human resources including payroll, procurement, records management, and governance.

The proposed solution is intended to improve operational efficiency, enhance data integrity, strengthen reporting capabilities and support compliance with applicable legislative and governance requirements.

The scope of works includes, but is not limited to, the supply and configuration of the ERP system, data migration from existing systems, integration with third-party applications, system implementation (including project management, testing, and deployment), user training, and the provision of ongoing support, maintenance, and system enhancements.

Council is seeking a collaborative delivery approach, whereby the successful contractor will work closely with council stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from the current system, minimise disruption to operations, and deliver a solution that aligns with Council’s strategic objectives and service delivery requirements.

Project commencement is expected in June 2026.

The tender closes 6 May 2026 at 2:00PM.
