PwC Australia's former head of IT services Matt Chamley has joined VMware as its new director of systems engineering.
In his new role, Chamley will lead the pre-sales engineering team and will be responsible for ensuring sales and delivery of VMware services within customer's existing architecture.
While heading up PwC Australia's IT services, he was responsible for all aspects of services strategy, engineering and operations, as well as product development. He was also director of DevOps.
Prior to joining PwC in 2016, Chamley was head of infrastructure for Woolworths and director of IT infrastructure at Cochlear.
“VMware’s unique position in the market, their culture and ability to lead is something that I’ve already been able to experience through projects that I’ve led," said Chamley.
"I’m excited to be joining such an innovative company and look forward to helping businesses understand the journey to modernising their technology and recognising the full potential VMware has to offer."
VMware vice president and managing director Alister Dias said Chamley's experience would enable the vendor to better work with customers to drive results.
“Competitive disruption and the relevant digital demands are creating increasingly complex challenges for customers. As we look to partner with and support our customers, it is key that we are able to understand this complexity and help them to best implement solutions," he added.
