Unified communications vendor Polycom has named Optus as its partner of the year for Australia and New Zealand.
The telecommunications giant received the award at Polycom’s global partner conference in Nashville.
"Optus has made a significant investment in the collaboration portfolio and our team has achieved the highest Polycom certification level to better service our customers’ growing collaboration requirements,” said Optus Business products, solutions and ICT vice president David Caspari.
Optus was also named enterprise partner of the year for data centre provider NextDC and in November. In April, the telco bagged four awards at the global Cisco Partner Summit, including ANZ partner of the year and the international gong for architectural excellence in enterprise networks.
The service provider was inducted as a CRN MVP last year for its muscle in the Australian IT channel.
Other local winners included Sydney's CommuniCloud, who picked up the excellence in industry award. The unified communications provider recently partnered with Polycom to deliver a range of video, web and audio conferencing services to indigenous and socially disadvantaged communities across Australia.
"We are delighted to receive the Team Polycom 2016 award for excellence in innovation,” said CommuniCloud managing director Mark Dover.
“This is not only a great achievement, but is also testament to the hard work and dedication of our engineering team in building our video-as-a-service platform.”
New Zealand-based Smartpresence also picked up the excellence in innovation award.
Polycom has an estimated 7,000 partners globally as of 2015, half of them in the USA.
