Controversial online retailer Android Enjoyed has topped the list of the most complained-about companies in New South Wales for the third month in a row.
The online retailer, which is owned and operated by Digital Marketing and Solutions, received 78 complaints in April, 28 more than last month, topping NSW Fair Trading's Complaints Register once again.
CameraSky, also owned by Digital Marketing and Solutions, ranked No. 2 on the list with 34 complaints last month. The two online retailers have been publicly warned by NSW Fair Trading on more than one occasion.
Last month, NSW minister for innovation and better regulation Matt Kean said he had directed Fair Trading to investigate Android Enjoyed to see if any further action could be taken.
"Their disappointing business practices are totally unacceptable, and consumers shouldn’t have to cop that,” Kean said.
Out of the 78 complaints about Android Enjoyed, 61 of them related to smartphones or accessories.
While Android Enjoyed continued to rack up complaints in April, a handful of other Australian retailers also appeared on the list but managed to reduce the number of complaints against them.
Apple ranked No. 4 on the list of most complained-about companies with 21 complaints, down from 30 complaints in March, all relating to devices bought at retail. Smartphone rival Samsung Electronics, meanwhile, racked up 19 complaints, also related to retail purchases.
Australian online retailer Kogan received 20 complaints in April, mostly stemming from electrical, electronics and whitegoods, while brick-and-mortar rivals Harvey Norman and The Good Guys received 19 complaints. JB Hi-Fi received 14 complaints.
Telstra appeared on the list with 10 complaints, mostly related to retail devices like smartphones as complaints about telco services are typically handled by the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman.
Other companies that appeared on the Complaints Register include Ebay with 17 complaints and LG Electronics with 13.
