Melbourne cybersecurity and IT provider Astralas has been acquired by New Zealand-based Bastion Security Group for an undisclosed sum.
This is Bastion’s fourth Australian acquisition, following MSPs Cythera in 2024 and Seamless Intelligence in 2025, and professional services provider Phronesis Security in January 2026.
The company said the move deepens Bastion’s professional services capability in Australia and reinforces its commitment to delivering end to end cybersecurity services.
Astralas’ 60 staff will join Bastion, including its senior management, bringing the number of cybersecurity professionals Bastion employs up to 250, with half located in Australia.
Bastion said Astralas had expertise with security architecture, security engineering and automation, identity and access management, and cloud consulting and engineering, with a focus on financial services, telecommunications and enterprise critical infrastructure.
“By pairing Astralas' market-leading expertise in security strategy, architecture, and engineering with Bastion’s proven "build and run" capabilities, we are now uniquely positioned to deliver high quality end-to-end security outcomes at scale,” Astralis directors Matt Lowth and Ben Smith said in a joint statement
“This merger allows us to offer our existing customers a significantly broader suite of services while introducing our specialised expertise to Bastion's clientele, ensuring a depth of offering that is unmatched in the local market."
Bastion’s chief executive Eugene Gibney said Astralas’ technical and customer service reputation makes them a “highly strategic addition” to the group.
"We’re excited to work with a team that shares our values and commitment to elevating cybersecurity outcomes for organisations in Australia and New Zealand. Their capabilities will play an important role in our continued growth, and deliver richer, more integrated solutions for our customers," he said.
