New Zealand-headquartered cyber security consulting and managed security services provider Bastion Security Group (‘Bastion’) will merge with Perth-headquarted Seamless Intelligence (Seamless), a specialist cyber security managed services provider.

This marks Bastion’s second acquisition in Australia, having recently acquired and integrated Melbourne-based cyber security managed services provider Cythera.

The current shareholders of Seamless will remain invested in the Bastion Group and the acquisition is expected to complete in the September 2025 quarter.

Seamless provides security information and event management and security operations centre services to blue-chip enterprise and government clients. Established in 2018 by Christopher Bolan and Tristan Bennett, Seamless has scaled to around 25 cybersecurity professionals.

Seamless’ customers are expected to benefit from enhanced managed services support coverage, with access to both Australian east coast and New Zealand support staff, plus access to Bastion’s extended service offering, which spans governance, risk and compliance, penetration testing, cloud and network security, cyber strategy advisory services and threat intelligence, and access to complementary managed services products.

Bastion Security Group’s CEO, Eugene Gibney, said the acquisition of Seamless Intelligence represents another important step in the company's strategy to build a trans-Tasman cybersecurity powerhouse.

"Seamless has earned a strong reputation for technical excellence and client trust, with a clear focus on making advanced cyber protection both accessible and tailored," he said.

"We’re excited to welcome their talented team to Bastion and look forward to combining our capabilities to deliver an even stronger managed security services offering across Australia and New Zealand.”

Seamless CEO, Christopher Bolan, said in Bastion, the partnership enables the company to offer its clients broader capabilities, greater coverage, and continuity of the team and service model they’ve come to rely on.

"We’re excited about the opportunities this unlocks for our customers, our people, and the market," he said.

The leadership team at Seamless will remain in place and the Seamless team will integrate over time with Cythera in Australia.

Seamless Intelligence were advised by Bonitz Advisory and Thompson Geer; Bastion Security Group were advised by EY and Maddocks.
