Actifio has announced Nextgen as its second local distributor, which will offer the vendor's copy data virtualisation in Australia.
Ingram Micro was the sole distributor in the region. Actifio's vice president and general manager for Asia-Pacific Patrick O'Donnell told CRN that the business is growing well and it made sense to add a second distributor to service the partners.
US-headquarted Actifio offers data virtualisation in more than 30 countries with enterprise backup modernisation and instant data access.
Actifio chose Nextgen for its expertise in the data centre and cloud market, according to O'Donnell.
"It's key for us to work closely with a distributor that has both the reach and technical capability to develop a strong channel and ultimately enable more of our customers with unprecedented value to move their business forward," said O'Donnell.
Nextgen managing director John Walters said Actifio will complement the distributor's portfolio and offer a great opportunity to all channel partners to "help their customers solve complex data management challenges".
"By eliminating multiple physical data silos and simplifying data management, Actifio's copy data virtualisation technology can deliver significant costs savings and business benefits to customers," said Walters.
